New growth emerges relatively compact in deep forest green to slate tones, then lengthens and becomes more pronounced as the plant matures, giving it a character quite different from the broader, smoother foliage of many other Alocasias.

The aurea form layers yellow variegation over this naturally dark foliage, showing up as soft chartreuse streaks that gradually develop into more defined golden yellow to warm lime marbling and sectors. The balance between dark metallic green and yellow shifts with each new leaf, since the amount and pattern of coloration can vary from leaf to leaf — an appealing for collectors seeking an unusual selection.

This particular plant grows in an upright, compact habit and performs well in bright, indirect light with warm, stable temperatures, elevated humidity, and evenly moist, well-aerated soil; consistent light supports coloration, while good airflow and well-draining media help keep roots and foliage healthy. It arrives potted in RPF Soil Mix in a 2.5" x 2.5" pot, stands 6.5" tall including the pot, and its longest leaf measures 4.5".

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0705/3436/5243/files/memory-plants-alocasia-scalprum-aurea-variegated-live-plant-green-and-yellow-foliage-1.webp?v=1793180691
https://memoryplants.net/products/alocasia-scalprum-aurea-variegated-live-plant-green-and-yellow-foliage
